When you work in technology, you will inevitably have to explain your job to non-technical people. This isn’t always easy (and it’s certainly not much fun). Worse yet, most the time we don’t give ourselves enough credit when explaining our profession to friends and relatives; we sell ourselves short.
I would imagine this is true of software testers. Surely there has to be a better way to explain the craft in laymen’s terms. There is, as it turns out. Our good friend Scott Barber explains:
